Never one to miss an opportunity for financial gain, in 1967, Salvador Dali took note of the public’s renewed interest in astrology and drew on his innate superstitious nature to create a stunning, limited-edition series of lithographs depicting the twelve signs of the zodiac.
The images are simple and illustrative, yet distinctly, whimsically, surrealistically Dali. Of note is the artist’s decision to represent Cancer not with a crab but with a lobster, likely based on his earlier sculpture series the Lobster Telephones.
