Miriam Nelken has been painting for over 35 years, starting at The Forum Art Institute in her home town of Winnipeg, Manitoba and in the following years attending classes at U of Manitoba’s Fine Arts Dept. In the mid 80’s, she studied at Emily Carr College of Art and Design.
Over the years Nelken has participated in group and solo shows and has worked on multiple commissions. Passionate about photography, most of her paintings have started from a moment of inspiration captured in a photo. Her work expresses the “spirit” of her subject and it is her hope that this “spirit” will speak to you.
