In the 1950s, Finnish-American architect and industrial designer, Eero Saarinen, designed many of the most recognizable midcentury pieces for Knoll International, including the Tulip Chair and the iconic Pedestal Table. A leader in trend exploration, Saarinen blended modern materials with sculptural forms to resolve some of the current furnishings most confounding issues, like “the slum of legs” found underneath a chair or table.
Drawing hundreds of models and using clay to bring them to life, Saarinen developed the Pedestal Collection. A defining accomplishment of modern design, the Pedestal Table adds a timeless appeal to your home — a true classic.
