Art has always been a part of Deana Brown‘s life. Born in Alberta, Deana spent most of her life in Toronto until 2000 when she moved to Mexico. There, she participated in local teachings in watercolour, ink, and oils. In 2011, Deana moved to Victoria, where she currently resides. It was here in Victoria where she was finally able to dedicate significant time to explore her art. Painting purely on emotion and with spontaneity, Deana finds complete joy in painting with acrylics while exploring colour and light on canvas.
Kylee Turunen was born and raised in Ontario and currently resides in Victoria. In 2009, Kylee graduated from Toronto’s Centennial College for Fine Art. Since then, she has continued to develop her skills as a fine artist, working primarily in acrylic on canvas. Kylee’s work has always had a consistent theme of nature, however, her style has progressed into a more abstract interpretation of her surroundings. She works with colour and form, often playing with opposing forces like curves and straight edges, or light and dark tones, to create contrast within her work. Kylee enjoys the freedom of expression involved in this process and is driven by her curiosity to see what she will create next as her work continually evolves.
