Kurva Design Accepted Into IDSwest 2015 Prototype and oneTree Exhibit

Last week Kurva Design’s new ‘Bow Lamp’ concept was accepted into the IDSwest Prototype 2015 Exhibition. This event will be the official launch of the design, a 7’x 5’ curved floor lamp made from tapered bent laminated wood. The IDSwest 2015 show runs from September 24th – 27th and further information can be found here.

The Bow Lamp has also been selected to be in the oneTree Exhibit, a collaborative exhibit between the Robert Bateman Center in Victoria and Live Edge Design in Duncan. The Exhibit runs from November 13th 2015 to January 5th 2016. More information can be found here.

Mike Randall of Kurva Design said that he is thrilled at the news and grateful for the opportunity to show his new design. Randall is a studio furniture maker and designer with a West Coast Modernist style. He is a graduate of the Fine Furniture Program at Camosun College and has run Kurva Design since 2012. Kurva is a Swedish word meaning bend, or arc. Mike creates furniture and lighting from North American woods that is influenced by his love of clean lines and curved forms. He frequently integrates metal into his designs to provide contrast in both color and texture.
