Bev Robertson and Taryn Brown Exhibition: Oct 3 – 30th/2016

Bev Robertson was born and raised on Vancouver Island with a natural talent for art. Her talent has taken her on a life long journey finding various artistic outlets along the way. Robertson finds inspiration in light as it hits flowers in the gardens around her and the movement and light of the ever-changing ocean, lakes, and skies of the beautiful Island where she resides. Currently, enjoying realism and representative painting in both Acrylic and Oils on canvas, she has a new energy to her work and is discovering and learning new techniques in her ongoing journey.

Born in Oliver, BC, where she studied art from a young age, Taryn Brown is a prolific artist who received her BA in Art History at The University of Victoria. In 1998, Brown studied in Malaga, Spain – Picasso’s birthplace – at the Instituto Al-Andalus. Featured in galleries in Victoria, Nanaimo,Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver, Brown’s work has been featured in Homes and Living Magazine, Art Avenue Magazine, WHERE magazine, Focus Magazine, Dining Out magazine, as well as being featured on a local TV review. “My art is full of energy with a focus on colour and its movement. What I want to capture in my art is not an accurate portrayal of the subject, but the energy and dynamism of the subject.”
